The LA mayor James Hahn instituted an ordinance to ban silly string in Hollywood on Halloween night. Violators will face a $1000 fine and/or up to six months in jail. Why would someone create such a dumb law you might ask? City workers complain about messy cleanups, people claim they are victims of a shooting after being sprayed, and randomly being sprayed has even started a few brawls.
The weird law was signed in 2004 and is still in effect as of 2010. If you ask us, this dumb law is just silly!

According to Wikipedia, below is the definition of a weird or dumb law:
“Dumb Laws, also weird, strange, or unnecessary laws, are laws that are perceived to be useless, no longer applicable …, or humorous. There are relatively few real “dumb laws” on the books, but large amount of hoax or exaggerated dumb laws are circulated on the internet…”
We thought this was interesting and the last part is so true. It is hard to verify these dumb and stupid laws are legit.
