According to TMZ.com, “Iron Chef” Mario Batali is being served a hot bowl of litigation soup. Former employees of Mario Batali’s restaurants have filed a lawsuit claiming Mario and his business partner were running a tip-stealing scheme. In short, the former employees were screwed out of money!
This isn’t the first time Mario Batali has been involved in a legal battle. A similar lawsuit was filed against his New York restaurant Babbo. Deja vu? Coincidence? Unlikely but Mario Batali will have his day in court to defend his innocence.

The world and the people in it are becoming dumber every day. Although we are surrounded by idiots, there are a handful of frivolous savants that put the human race to shame.
For example, a woman playing golf hit the ball into railroad tracks only to find the ball crashing back in her face. Horrible coincidence right? The courts didn’t think so and awarded her $40,000.
How about a $2 million dollar paint job? A guy bought a BMW only to find out it had been repainted prior to his purchase due to damage from acid rain. His reward… $2,004,000.
A Swedish man donated his sperm to a lesbian couple so they could start a family. However, the same sex relationship did not last and one of the woman ended up suing the biological father for child support. She won and now this generous sperm donor is coughing up over $3,000 a year.
Ever walked by a vending machine and had it fall on you? This does not happen by chance. A teen was trying to steal a soda and his struggle to save a buck ended up costing him his life when the soda machine fell on top of him. His family sued Coca Cola for over a half million, blaming the company for not securing their machines and posting signs.
And the finale… a man turned gay after being rear-ended. No really, this guy got into a rear-end collision. Several years later, the man left his wife and started to frequent gay bars. Claiming the rear-end collision changed his personality (obviously more than that), this newly established gay man was awarded $200,000. His wife… she was awarded $25,000.

Now this is just the pits for Michael Vick. This guy can’t catch a break!
While facing charges for illegal dog fighting, Michael Vick was sued by an inmate in South Carolina who claims Vick stole his pitbulls, sold them on eBay, and then used the proceeds to purchase missiles from Iran.
How much does a Blue Nose Pit run on Craigslist these days? What, a few hundred dollars? For this kind of dough, I may just be tempted to add a few missiles to my collection as well.
It looks like the story does not end there. The inmate also requested the $63,000,000,000 be delivered to the correctional facility he is serving time in and on top of that, he demanded the $63 billion be backed by gold and silver.
Who would have thought a guy serving time for wire fraud would come up with such a brilliant scheme? This guy is a superstar!

Save the Sage Grouse! Wait, what the hell is a Sage Grouse anyway? From the looks of it, this thing is one funky looking bird.
Tens of thousands of open acres with lush juicy vegetation are available throughout the Montana Beaverhead Deerlodge National Forest… perfect area for livestock to feed naturally right? Who needs grass fed cows when you can pack twice as many cows into 6×3′ cages and pump them with growth hormone until the cows come home (pun intended)? I digress.
There are two viewpoints in this lawsuit. Environmental groups who believe the Sage Grouse should be able to roam freely and not have their habitat ruined by happy hungry cows… and then of course the ranchers who want to provide their cows a nice meal.
The U.S. Forest Service provided an assessment stating Sage Grouse habitat was not at steak (pun), but the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the Forest Service to prepare a new environmental assessment to prove both cattle and Sage Grouse can co-exist.
Maybe the cattle ranchers should demand a separate study from the environmentalists proving the existence of Sage Grouse in the area does not put their cows at risk of extinction!

Ernie Chambers is a State Senator who decided to fight Frivolous Lawsuits with Frivolous Lawsuits by suing God.
The constitution does not prohibit the filing of lawsuits nor does it dictate how or who lawsuits can be filed against. So, this leaves the door wide open for Frivolous Lawsuits. The scum of this great nation take full advantage of these justice system holes leading to thousands of Frivolous Lawsuits being filed each year.
In regards to this lawsuit, Ernie claims he has tried contacting god on several occasions. Further, God allegedly causes “calamitous catastrophes resulting in the wide-spread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants including innocent babes, infants, children, the aged and infirm without mercy or distinction.”
The lawsuit goes on to request a summary judgment or a hearing to command God stop engaging in the acts as conveyed in the lawsuit.
Hopefully God has a sense of humor and will not punish Ernie Chambers for his lawsuit, even if it was just to prove a point.

Now this story is seriously F’d up. The popular hardcore Toronto band F*cked Up (that is there actual name) claimed they were being sued by an energy drink company for defamation. At the end of the day, this lawsuit was a fake leaving behind hundreds if not thousands of April Fool’s day hoax victims.
The announcement stirred up quite a commotion amongst F*cked Up’s followers and to pour salt in the wound, the act even went on Canada’s MuchMusic to further “validate” their story.
Whether this was a publicity stunt or cry for attention, it is safe to say this is F’d up, but then again what else would you expect from a band named F*cked Up?

Everyone would probably agree Donald Trump should be sued for that ridiculous hair, but this case is a bit more serious.
Donald Trump is being sued again after another failed condo project (last year he was sued for the Trump Ocean Resort Baja Mexico deal). In this case, seven investors have become plaintiffs seeking punitive damages in excess of $10 million.
It gets better. The plaintiffs are also including Trump’s kids and wife in the lawsuit as they attended several project sales events. This led the investors to believe Trump and family were more actively involved with the project than they actually were. The investors felt duped after finding out this was more of a licensing deal and the appearances were a mere publicity stunt.
It gets better. These are not investors who got pissed after being refused a photo op with their hero Mr. Trump. Instead, there is actually some weight to this lawsuit… the condos were never built!
It gets even better. This project included 500+ luxury condos with all the amenities such as a private spa, restaurants, and shops. According to to the lawsuit, Trump and his developer did not have financing nor the proper permits prior to making the sales.
The luxury project site now consists of a few cement pads. Donald Trump has truly redefined the term “luxury” in this deal!

If your plumbing were broken, would you sue the water company? If you or a loved one were hit by a drunk driver, would you sue the car manufacturer? If you eat McDonald’s and Taco Bell for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, would you then turn around and sue your doctor after they advise your cholesterol, blood pressure, and weight are through the roof?
It does not make sense why these frivolous lawsuits continue to pop up. Adults need to stop blaming others and should be held accountable for their own actions.
A perfect example of this is when a white supremacist went on a shooting rampage in the San Fernando Valley. Now anyone can understand the families of the victims would be hurt and confused. In this case, the family members did not direct their anger towards the coward who took their loved ones lives. Instead, they filed a lawsuit against the major gun manufacturers claiming they deliberately over saturated the market with guns… resulting in unsavory sales practices… which ultimately made a gun available to this psycho Nazi, among others… wheeew.
Fortunately, the Federal Appeals Court dismissed the claims for damages.

A woman visiting the Maritime Aquarium with her family sued the city of Norwalk after her toddler stepped in dog poop just outside the Maritime garage.
The woman tried to recoup her lost day and a new pair of shoes in the amount of $100. Who spends that kind of money on kids shoes?
Luckily, Norwalk officials denied the woman’s claims and she will be forced to hose the shoes off just like the rest of us common folk.

Producer Rob Fusari, Gaga’s ex is now suing her for $30 million claiming he created her name and creative musical presence. When their relationship was going well, Lady Gaga allegedly signed away 20% of her earnings

The famous Food Network chef Paula Dean is now in hot water after bailing on one of her latest deals.
Paula Deen signed a contract with Celebrity Chefs Tour LLC to go on tour and provide live cooking demonstrations. But, the $150,000 advance check written to Paula bounced and she decided to cut ties claiming Celebrity Chefs Tour was in breach of contract.
After suing Celebrity Chefs Tour LLC for $1 million in February, Paula Dean is now being counter-sued for $40 million.
It will be interesting to see who gets “cooked” when this famous lawsuit is finally worked out.

A teenager is electrocuted after a bet with friends “made him” climb a 35 foot electrical pole. After nearly 20,000 volts of electricity were sent through his body, his mother is now suing the electric company.
Apparently, a 30+ foot pole and the sight of electrical wires is not enough. Instead, according to this kid’s mom, the area should have been fenced off, signs should have been posted, and the tower should have been designed in a way to deter climbing.
This may be a weird concept for some parents but maybe, just maybe, this kid should have been raised with some common sense.

Touch that cactus and reap the consequences! Besides the uncomfortable stabbing sensation, you may also be charged with a felony or misdemeanor and a fine of up to $150,000, depending on the cactus or endangered plants value.
Laws from 1929 make the damage, removal, or transportation of native plants illegal without first obtaining a State permit. With that said, make sure you obtain the necessary permits before even looking at that cactus the wrong way or you may find yourself in a poky situation.

Wow, Lindsay Lohan is actually starting the controversy vs. being the controversy for once. Lindsay is slamming E-Trade with a whopping $100 million lawsuit!
One of E-Trade’s latest creative commercials pokes fun, possibly at Lindsay. A baby boy is explaining to his baby girlfriend why he did not call her the night before. The girlfriend baby then confronts her boyfriend by asking whether the “milkaholic Lindsay” was over.

The popular lingerie company could not keep this story a secret! An Ohio woman Roberta Ritter filed a lawsuit in 2008 against Victoria’s Secret claiming their bras gave her blistery red hot welts that itched like crazy.
Roberta sent the bras off to a lab for testing and found they contained formaldehyde, a popular embalming ingredient. Similar to latex, some people are extremely allergic to formaldehyde which explains the itchy rash Roberta and other consumers have allegedly received.
With the secret out, others are coming forward with similar claims which screams Class Action Lawsuit. Luckily, Victoria’s Secret has plenty of skins to cover the costs and their @ss… but only for this lawsuit as the models have a job to do!

The popular band Red Hot Chili Peppers sued Showtime for naming one of their shows “Californication”, the same name the RHCP used over a decade ago for one of their albums.
This lawsuit discourages Showtime and anyone else from using “their” phrase in the future. The Chili Peppers are also seeking damages and restitution to make this lawsuit even more spicy.
In the show’s defense, the producer explained he got the name from a popular bumper sticker in the 70′s.

This is a quasi-famous lawsuit, well, not really but read on. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s had to get rid of their dog Floyd vom Meierhoff after he attacked three people.
Being smart logic minded celebrities, Jennifer and Marc came up with a great idea… let’s find this military trained attack dog a new home… even better, let’s find this ill tempered dog a new home with young children. Brilliant!

This is one weird lawsuit! The Kansas City Royals mascot “Sluggerrr” has stirred up controversy after pelting a guy in the eye with a hot dog.
During a September game, Sluggerrr sent hot dogs flying into the stands with the use of a hot dog slinging canon contraption. After the canon ran out, he proceeded to throw food by hand (or paw) into the audience.
Sluggerrr must have been taking lessons from the Royals pitcher. Trying to be fun and fancy, the mascot attempted to throw a hot dog over his back. The hot dog did not reach it’s intended velocity and hit a fan square in the eye instead.
John Coomer, the lucky hot dog assaulted fan, allegedly suffered from a detached retina and has since undergone a couple surgeries to fix his ego… we mean his eye.

The Vice President of Finance for Koss embezzled over $30 million and now someone has to pay. Koss is suing American Express for failing to uphold the Bank Secrecy Act under the premise AmEx did not immediately report the suspicious activity.
Since 2008, Sue Sachdeva embezzled money from Koss to pay for a life of luxury. She spent excessively on expensive clothing, exotic furs, shoes, and the finest jewelry. Sachdeva even paid her bills using Koss accounts. [more...]

What comes to mind when you think of Chicago… cold weather, baseball, gangsters, weird laws? What! Weird laws? Yes, Chicago definitely has weird laws too.
In the late 1800′s, building height was restricted to 130 feet. At one time, you were considered a nomad if you were caught with less than one dollar on hand. Or how about this… you could end up in jail if caught diseased or ugly in public. It is still against the law to fly kites downtown or flush garbage in a toilet.
Most of these laws were cleaned up in the 70′s, but some still remain on the books to keep us laughing.

This is not a fake lawsuit, but rather the birth of all future fake lawsuits and interesting to say the least. A website has made fake legal forms readily available to anyone dubious enough to use them.
Ever seen the YouTube video of the guy who thought he won the lottery after his buds bought him a ticket for his birthday? That was just an evil prank, but we sure did get a good laugh at birthday boys expense.
Similar to this prank, you can now file your own fake lawsuit. Or how about a paternity suit or fake strip search warrant? While you are at it, why not a file a palimony suit or create a deportation order.
The possibilities are endless.

What an idiot! Janine Sugawara filed a class action against the makers of Cap’n Crunch stating this sugary sweet cereal is misleading consumers into thinking they are eating real fruit.
The judge dismissed the case on the basis crunch berries do not grow naturally on trees. If they did grow on trees, we are positive this lady would try to smoke them.

There is absolutely no justice served with this lawsuit. A judge in Washington D.C. sued his dry cleaners for $67,000,000 ($67 million!) after they lost his favorite pair of slacks.
The slacks were $800 which is entirely ridiculous alone, but the fact that this judge is arrogant enough to think this minor inconvenience is worth that kind of money makes him a slime-ball.
But wait, there may be a legitimate reason why a judge who has been trusted to make sound decisions on behalf of citizens would take such brash action. Nope, he is suing for 10 years of weekend car rentals so he can transport his dry cleaning to another store. This equates to nearly $130,000 per weekend trip. The Alienation of Affection Law allows husbands and wives to sue each other for loss of love. Now men and woman define love differently. Does this law cover the demands of what a man would consider love? Could he sue his wife if she does not give him some loving…. anyway, moving along.
Arthur Friedman of Cook County sued German Blinov for stealing his wife’s love. He found this rare law and used it to win a $4,000 settlement.

It is once again the BIG day and the Super Bowl is about to begin. Lets take a look at a lawsuit that involved Janet Jackson a few years back.
Everybody remembers the incident. During the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were performing and as a part of the gig, Justin Timberlake somehow managed to pull a patch from Janet Jackson’s outfit, exposing her breast to the masses. Some were shocked, disturbed, or happy to get a sneak peek. Others were outraged.
Within three days of the incident, a woman in Tennessee decided to file a class action lawsuit on behalf of Americans who were exposed to Ms. Jackson’s “sexual” behavior. The lawsuit sought punitive damages, although the exact number was not disclosed.
This Super Bowl may bring a new history making surprise, but only time will tell.

This is not the first time Dr. Phil has been involved in a weird lawsuit. A woman receiving therapy in Hollywood has accused Dr. Phil of involuntary imprisonment, brainwashing, indecent exposure, amongst other things. She alleges Dr. Phil held her against her will and then proceeded to expose his naked body to her.
Some think Dr. Phil is a therapeutic Oprah while others think he is a complete ego centered goon. But, this lawsuit portrays Dr. Phil as a sadist which may be a far stretch… even for Dr. Phil.

Lawyers are more than aware of frivolous lawsuits, or even better, dumb lawsuits filed by ignorant people. This lawsuit combines the best of both worlds.
When you take a woman from New York who happens to be a lawyer and throw in a wedding, out comes Bridezilla! Elana Glatt decided to sue her florist after they did not furnish the anticipated flower arrangements for her wedding.
The flowers were prepared by a Manhattan Floral Company for the amount of roughly $27,000. Elana is suing for $400,000 claiming breach of contract! Taking into consideration reasonable restitution and damages, where in the h@ll did she come up with this number?
All said in done, the real victim in this story is the poor man Elana married.

The LA mayor James Hahn instituted an ordinance to ban silly string in Hollywood on Halloween night. Violators will face a $1000 fine and/or up to six months in jail. Why would someone create such a dumb law you might ask? City workers complain about messy cleanups, people claim they are victims of a shooting after being sprayed, and randomly being sprayed has even started a few brawls.
The weird law was signed in 2004 and is still in effect as of 2010. If you ask us, this dumb law is just silly!

According to Wikipedia, below is the definition of a weird or dumb law:

We thought this was interesting and the last part is so true. It is hard to verify these dumb and stupid laws are legit.

It is almost cliche to cover this story but what the hell. We are all aware of this one right? Anna Ayala goes to Wendy’s, orders chili along with her meal, and then claims she found a severed fingertip in the chili she ordered.

On a basis of principle, this grown woman is now filing a lawsuit against the college, stating she was under the impression racking up the most donations would result in a straight win. A man has been wearing a speedo to the beach for years and finally got a ticket. He was cited for trespassing and was advised not to return. Thank God! Lets face it… they should have thrown the book at this guy and locked him up for breaking “man law”.
Unfortunately, Mr. Hezzelwood (thong boy) believed he was being treated unfairly and now plans on suing his local Sheriff’s Office for violating his civil rights.
